The Quiet Below — A Poem Collection by Nadia Polydorou.
“ I said to my soul, be still, and wait without hope /
for hope would be hope for the wrong thing.”T.S. Eliot
A Quiet Invitation
Some poems come easy while others arrive slowly, like fog rolling over a quiet field. Uninvited, but not unwelcome. The Quiet Below, is my personal poem collection dedicated to healing and personal growth.
Here you’ll find poems ranging from motivational poems to sad, reflective verses (sometimes with a pinch of humour) that turn quiet struggles into art. The mission is to help you process trauma and find hope through poetry – from journaling for healing to insights on how to analyse poems and understand their deeper meaning.
In this quiet space, poetry becomes a form of writing therapy, guiding both readers and writers through life’s challenges.

My poem collection is not organised by form or chronology, but by feeling. Each one is a doorway into a personal story that explores themes from coping with trauma to finding motivation and hope. Enjoy a brief glimpse of each poem and click through to read the full piece and its reflection.
Heretic’s Call is a compelling political poem that delves into the complexities of belief and societal unrest, reflecting the challenges of navigating modern ideologies.
Heretic. Charlie Kirk. The Great Prayer Experiment –
Kept me up all night, my thoughts were spent.
For what confuses is the youth’s deep plight,
Some say, “Make America Great Again,” let’s fight with might.
A sad and reflective poem about grief, silence, and emotional restraint. For anyone who’s held too much for too long and found release in the quiet act of writing.
My sleep is thin, my thoughts are deep,
This restless mind won’t let things go.
The words I never dared to weep,
Still echo soft, and haunt me so.
A modern identity poem about boredom, self-doubt, and leaving things unfinished. For anyone who keeps abandoning something before it has the chance to become real.
They say I’m sitting, still and sweet,
A doll in hand, no shoes on feet.
But I remember leaving fast:
Was it boredom? Or, did joy not last?

Sometimes we don’t know what we’re looking for until it finds us. This collection is grouped by mood, so whether you feel hopeful, hollow, overwhelmed or wide open—you’ll find something that speaks the way you feel.
This Isn’t Just A Poem Collection. It’s a Conversation.
My name is Nadia Polydorou. I’m the creator and writer of all you see on this page―a personal dedication to my everyday life through poems.
I’m based in Cyprus, but most likely, you’ll find me behind the screens and notebooks of my scribbles - professionally, personally or otherwise.
Each poem in this collection began as something I couldn’t quite say out loud. Even when I did, it felt somewhat hollow. Journaling and writing about my life gave it shape, while sharing gives it meaning.
Maybe you’re here because you’re trying to put something into words too. Or maybe you’re just passing through, look for quiet in a world that demands volume.
Either way, Welcome!

A slow newsletter for readers, writers, and the quietly curious.
The Quiet Circle is more than a mailing list.
It’s a soft place for words to land, yet hard to ignore;
where thoughts and the healing power of poetry
comes knocking on your door.

A poem reflecting on ambition, contentment, and the quiet struggle of chasing more than we need. For anyone questioning the balance between wealth and peace.
Though health is mine, and love, and dreams once sought,
Though life abroad unfolds just as I planned,
I find my heart still craving to withstand
The weight of days where balance must be caught.
